The European Commission has put forward a proposal for new mechanisms for the distribution of illegal migrants between Member States, and in Greece a number of NGOs have been accused of spying for criminals and helping human smugglers. Sweden has launched the loudest lawsuit of recent times against the murderer and rapist Abubaker Mohamad Awad. These are a combination of developments that have to be considered when thinking about the future national strategy for uninvited guests.
A few weeks ago, a small group of enthusiasts preached at the Freedom Monument offering asylum to migrants from the Greek islands. For those in Africa and Asia who have entered the European Union illegally in search of a better life by buying services from criminals and criminal organizations. One of the welcomer posters read "Make room for refugees" in English, the other read "We have enough space". Another third succinctly called "Refugees welcome". But no poster said that Abubaker Mohamad Awad is a rapist and a murderer.
Welcomers don't like stereotypes. They believe that stereotypes that run countrary to their beliefs should be eradicated. Although stereotyping is a natural defense mechanism for any living being. And every such case - every rape and every murder in society reinforces the stereotype that illegal migrants are a potential source of danger. In Sweden, a trial against Abubaker Mohamad Awad began this week.
His crime is horrible in how nonsensical it is, but at the same time similar to many others committed by criminals admitted to Europe - sexually hungry, hateful and fearless.
The fable of this particular crime has already been described in the publication "A migrant from Sudan kills a Swedish nationalist". It happened in the spring. Now the case has gone to court, the materials collected by the police have been made public and important circumstances of the crime have become known, which clearly aggravates the crime.
First, the rape of the girl and the murder of the boy are interrelated crimes, as the second rape took place in the bathroom, while the severely stabbed howeowner was right next room and bleeding out quickly. Secondly, the criminal considered his victims to be racists because he saw a baseball cap with letters SD on top of the shelf. This is the abbreviation for Sweden's third largest political party, the Swedish Democrats. This party defends the ideology of nationalism and opposes uninvited guests in Sweden. Such as Abubaker Mohamad Awad. Several years ago, the Swedish state granted him asylum, citizenship, benefits, and tried to integrate him. But none of that came to fruition. In his 13 years living in Sweden, he committed at least one sexual assault, several shopliftings, drug crimes, and on May 10, two rapes and murders.
He came to Tommie Lindh's friend party uninvited. One of the guests got in a conflict during the evening and was easily injured with a knife. The girl was attacked when everyone had gone to bed. Threatened with a knife, he mentioned the hat on the shelf - called the girl a racist and threatened to kill both her and her friends. Raped her. The girl rushed away when she recovered, called her friend Tommie Lindh, the two took refuge in the bathroom and called the police, but in their panic did not lock themselves in. Abubaker Mohamad Awad found them and ran at Tommie with a knife. Stabbed him many times - in the scalp, neck, chest. While Tommie was bleeding, Abubaker Mohamad Awad raped the girl again. The police did not arrive for a long time. So long that Abubaker Mohamad Awad had managed to fall asleep next to the corpse. When the police were photographing the suspect at the station, he laughed happily and showed a sign of victory with his fingers. He was drunk. The first testimony said that he did not remember anything that happened. But later he confessed. He had heard voices and made the wrong decision. It’s that simple.
The number of violent and sexual crimes in Sweden has increased significantly since 2015, when the country accepted the European Union's quota for migrants. Latvia also had to take in several hundred migrants, but most of them, as soon as they left the Mucenieki, went on to richer countries - Germany, Austria, Sweden.
Now the European Union is preparing a new migration policy, and, as before, it will apply to Latvia as well. At the end of September, the European Commission presented a plan to reform the EU's migration and asylum system. This means that countries at the EU's external borders under migratory pressure will be able to request the mobilization of a mandatory solidarity mechanism. And then the other countries will have a choice: they will either take migrants with them or finance the repatriation of migrants to their countries of origin instead of other EU countries. Member States' participation obligations will be determined on the basis of gross domestic product and population. The European Parliament, which will have to approve or reject the New Migration and Asylum Pact, has already expressed concern that most Member States will choose to pay for the removal of migrants, in which case the European Union will face the same 2015 dilemma of what to do with poorly controlled crowds of illegal migrants.
Domestic welcomers also consider migrants arrival to be beneficial in our country. The crime of Abubaker Mohamad Awad teaches that uninvited guests should be treated with greater caution.
